Early Years Librarian

Our prestigious British School in Beijing is seeking a dedicated Early Years Librarian to join their vibrant learning community.
Key Responsibilities:
*Curate and manage an engaging and age-appropriate library collection for children aged 3–7, fostering a lifelong love of reading and learning.
*Plan and deliver interactive storytelling sessions, book-themed activities, and literacy programmes tailored to Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and Key Stage 1 (KS1).
*Collaborate with teachers to integrate library resources into the curriculum and support classroom learning objectives.
*Promote library services and initiatives to students, staff, and families, encouraging regular library use.
*Maintain an organised, welcoming, and inclusive library environment, ensuring books and materials are well-maintained and accessible.
*Introduce innovative digital tools and resources to enhance young learners' engagement with literacy.
Essential Qualifications and Experience:
- A recognised qualification in Library Science, Education, or a related field.
- Previous experience working in a library or educational setting, preferably with Early Years or primary-aged children.
- Familiarity with EYFS and/or British curriculum frameworks is an advantage.
- Excellent organisational and communication skills.
- A creative, child-focused approach to literacy and learning.
Desirable Attributes:
- Passion for children's literature and early childhood development.
- Experience in designing and implementing reading programmes or events.
- Ability to use digital library management systems and tools effectively.
- Sensitivity to working in a multicultural and bilingual environment.
