Minimum qualifications: - PhD degree in Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience working with deep learning libraries such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, or Keras.
- Experience working with data sets.
- Experience in Python, JavaScript, R, Java, or C++.
- One or more scientific publication submission(s) for conferences, journals, or public repositories.
Preferred qualifications: - 1 year of experience leading research efforts and influencing other researchers.
- Experience in deploying machine learning models in production.
- Experience with computational advertising or web search.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $141,000-$202,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities - Adapt and fine-tune Gemini models for retrieval, pseudo-rater, and other Ads applications.
- Collaborate with researchers and engineers in the Google DeepMind Gemini pre-training team.
- Develop Machine Learning (ML) modeling techniques that influence Ads products.
- Work with product teams to develop and deploy user-facing products.
- Author research papers to share and generate impact of research results across organizations and in the research community.
